Palisade Mountain, Colorado

Now this was a fun adventure! This mountain is located right across highway 34 from Sheep (round) Mountain, but for the trail access you have to go further down 34 and onto highway 43 towards Glen Haven, and then you take a right and pretty much go around back to the mountain through dirt roads. 4WD isn’t necessary.

We started right before the sunrise and had relatively no trouble with finding the path, but towards the top we got a little off route. The cairns are definitely helpful on this trail.

We really enjoyed this hike! It was mostly shaded and pretty easy. Will do again.
